Bolenar Journal
01 — Standards

Editorial Standards & Process

Bolenar Journal publishes independently researched writing on everyday eating habits and their relationship to long-term weight management. This page describes how that work is selected, written, reviewed, and corrected.

02 — Principles

How the Editorial Process Works

Bolenar Journal operates under the following editorial principles: articles are reviewed by at least one second editor before publication, sources are cited where appropriate, corrections are noted publicly, and writers disclose any commercial relationships that could influence their selection of subject matter.

Every article begins with a research brief that identifies the specific question or pattern the piece will address. Writers are asked to identify their primary sources — peer-reviewed research, published nutritional guidance, or documented population studies — before the first draft is submitted.

After draft submission, a second reader performs a factual review, checking that claims are consistent with cited sources and that no assertion exceeds what the evidence supports. The piece is then returned to the writer for revision before a final editorial pass.

03 — Scope

What This Publication Covers

Bolenar Journal is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday wellness practices. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body.

Articles published on Bolenar Journal are editorial in nature and reflect the writers' observations on everyday wellness practices. The content is not intended as professional advice, nor as guidance for the management of any specific condition. Readers with specific concerns about their daily routines are encouraged to speak with a qualified wellness professional.

The publication does not accept sponsored content, advertorial material, or product placements. Revenue, where it exists, comes through editorial licensing and publication partnerships that do not influence content decisions.

04 — Workflow

From Idea to Published Article

01

Topic Identification

Writers propose topics drawn from published research, observable eating pattern shifts, or underexplored areas of nutritional literacy. Topics are evaluated for editorial relevance and source availability before commissioning.

02

Source Gathering

Primary sources — peer-reviewed research, population-level dietary studies, and established nutritional guidance — are collected and assessed before a word of the article is written. Anecdotal claims are not accepted as primary support.

03

Draft & Review

The writer submits a complete draft with inline source references. A second editor reads for factual consistency, tone, and alignment with the publication's editorial standards. A minimum of one revision round follows.

04

Publication & Correction

Published articles carry a byline, publication date, and category tag. Corrections are noted within the body of the article with a date stamp. No article is silently altered after publication.

05 — Sources

Source Standards

The hierarchy of sources used across all articles, from primary to supporting.

Tier 1

Peer-Reviewed Research

Published studies in indexed nutritional, dietetic, and behavioural science journals. Used as the primary evidentiary basis for any factual claim about eating patterns, energy balance, or body composition.

Tier 2

Established Dietary Guidance

Published nutritional frameworks from recognised bodies — UK dietary guidelines, evidence-informed eating frameworks — used to contextualise research findings and provide readers with a stable reference point.

Tier 3

Population & Survey Data

Large-scale dietary surveys, food habit population studies, and longitudinal nutrition research used to illustrate the breadth of observed eating pattern variation across demographic groups.

Tier 4

Expert Commentary

Attributed commentary from qualified nutrition professionals used sparingly as contextual perspective — never as a standalone substitute for primary evidence. Expert credentials are noted at time of citation.

06 — Scope Limits

What Bolenar Journal Does Not Publish

Individual Eating Plans

Articles explore patterns and principles — not tailored programmes. The publication does not publish personalised eating schedules, portion targets, or calorie directives for individual readers.

Product Endorsements

Bolenar Journal does not publish reviews, endorsements, or feature placements for commercial food products, supplements, or wellness services. Editorial independence is maintained across all published content.

Unsubstantiated Outcome Claims

No article will assert a specific, quantified outcome from any eating pattern without direct reference to published research. Claims that exceed what the evidence supports are edited out at review stage.

07 — Corrections

Corrections & Updates

When a factual error is identified — whether by a reader, a writer, or an editor — the correction is appended to the relevant article with a note explaining what was changed and when. The original text is not removed; the correction is placed directly below the affected passage.

For minor clarifications — updated terminology, reformatted references, improved sentence clarity — the article carries an "updated" date stamp alongside the original publication date. The editorial substance is not altered by these passes.

Readers who identify a potential factual error are encouraged to write to [email protected] with a subject line beginning "Correction:". All submissions are reviewed within five working days.

08 — Independence

Editorial Independence

All articles are commissioned and edited on the basis of their editorial value alone. No advertiser, sponsor, partner, or third-party organisation has any input into article selection, framing, or content. Writers are informed of this policy at the time of commissioning.

Commercial relationships — where they exist in the broader organisation — are disclosed in the publication's public-facing documentation. No such relationship influences any editorial output on this site.

Bolenar Journal does not accept payment for editorial coverage in any form. Content is selected and published on the basis of its relevance to readers with an interest in food habits, eating patterns, and the relationship between dietary choices and long-term wellbeing.
